1991 -

Our dear friend Tim Beets and his wife Linda cook in an iron kettle.  Tim worked here at the Museum for many years, taking care of everything from electrical work to constructing exhibit rails and cabinets.   Mickey Lindsay, our grounds manager, is shown to the left of the photo.

Nick Nicholas, woodworker from Florida, shares a joke with some onlookers.

Connie Rizner demonstrates the art of spinning.  In recent years, she has set up in the Peters Homestead House to dye yarn in a big copper kettle over an open hearth.

The great John Hartford--singer, songwriter, television personality, and all-time great banjo picker--was an integral part of the early years of Homecoming.  Here he entertains the crowd from the Main Stage with Dr. Nat Winston.  Nat is a surgeon from Nashville who also just happens to be a very talented musician himself.

Lee Billips, local educator and potter with the nearby Community Craft Center which features Appalachian crafts, shows some youngsters the finer points of throwing pottery.

John Gunther, R.A. Martin (Hacker Martin's son) and Mark Gunther inspect a long rifle at 1991's Tennessee Fall Homecoming.
