The Museum of Appalachia is grateful for the many individuals and families who have helped preserve Appalachian history through artifact donations over the years. Because of limited space, collections priorities, and preservation considerations, the Museum accepts artifact donations on a very limited basis.

All potential donations are subject to review and approval by the Museum’s Collections Committee before acceptance.

Submission of information or photographs does not guarantee acceptance into the collection.

Due to the volume of inquiries received, response times may vary.

The Museum carefully considers whether a potential donation aligns with its mission, existing collections, storage capacity, and long-term preservation needs.
