Volunteer with the Museum of Appalachia
Become part of our passionate team in preserving and sharing Appalachian heritage. Volunteers make every visit meaningful, and we offer a variety of ways for you to give back and get involved.
We need talented and enthusiastic volunteers to assist across several areas:
Grounds & Gardens Care: Keep our historic farmstead looking its best—planting, mulching, and light landscaping.
Exhibit Support: Help install, maintain, or interpret exhibits, and provide a welcoming presence in the galleries.
Visitor Experience: Greet guests, answer questions, assist with ticketing, and be a friendly face at the front desk.
Programs & Events: Serve as a docent during special demonstrations or events, assist with group tours, or support event logistics.
Other Areas: Administrative support, archival work, hospitality, or behind-the-scenes tasks—tell us what you’re passionate about when you apply.
